Changes in safety requirements related to the quality of milk and dairy products are another step in bringing the Ukrainian dairy industry closer to the requirements of European legislation. Firstly, it is about measures to improve good production practices in the production and circulation of milk, including the introduction of transparent systems and opportunities to monitor record keeping and share information on laboratory test results.
An important change is also the introduction of a clear mechanism for conducting laboratory research and tests, in particular:
— methods of checking the conformity of milk and dairy products are determined by approved standards and criteria;
— a minimum period of research is established for the detection of residues of veterinary drugs and inhibitors, the content of which is legally limited and/or the amount of which exceeds the maximum permissible level.
Also, requirements and criteria for the suitability of milk that can be used by humans for consumption and handling of milk that does not meet the requirements of this order are defined in detail.
