The month of September in our country began with a sharp increase in the price of live pigs that are ready for slaughter. Currently, the average cost of 1 kilogram of live products is 83.3 hryvnias, which is almost 5% more than a week ago, according to experts from the «Svynary of Ukraine» platform.
Today, the purchase price of live pigs in slaughter conditions is 82.5-84.6 hryvnias per 1 kilogram, analysts also note that the price by region has become more uniform than a week earlier.
Companies that produce pork meat that, due to seasonality and, accordingly, a somewhat limited supply on the market, are currently experiencing a fairly high level of procurement activity. Also, at a fairly large number of live meat suppliers, the batches are now smaller than they should be, and because of this, the amount of raw materials is also decreasing.
Due to all these factors, competition on the market increases, which in turn provokes an increase in the price of products.
