Ukraine began to actively sell cheese in the EU

27.09.2022 12:59

The European Commission published indicators of foreign trade in dairy products for the first half of the year. At the beginning of the year, sales were insignificant, but in July-August the situation changed significantly, and now we can expect a pleasant annual result. The main reason for such success is attractive prices for Ukrainian goods and the removal of trade restrictions by the EU. All this contributed to a significant increase in the export of Ukrainian oil, and it can be assumed that by the end of the year, Ukraine will fight for leadership in the supply of oil to the EU.

In addition to the already mentioned reasons, it should be noted that this year the number of Ukrainian plants that received the Euro number increased, and this led to an increase not only in export volumes, but also in market players.

Turkey also showed good export performance. Despite the fact that this country is better known as an exporter of milk protein and an importer of fats, the situation has changed significantly over the past year. The wild devaluation of the Turkish lira simultaneously reduced demand in the domestic market and even expanded the export possibilities of butter and cheese (yes, the situation is similar to the Ukrainian one).

As a result, Turkey is now one of the main suppliers of dairy products in the EU, so by the end of the year, Ukraine will compete with Turkey for leadership in the supply of butter to the EU.
