How online trade has changed in 2022

However, despite the surge in demand and the growth of the average check, the full recovery of the industry did not begin until the summer.

The significant growth of online sales in recent years has become a particular point of pride for retailers.
Shopping networks began to work in all possible directions to increase online sales. And that was just the beginning. They have established logistics, service of Internet resources, and delivery of goods. The portal of the Retail Association of Ukraine — RAU conducted a survey among participants of the Ukrainian retail market about changes in online trade in recent months and the volume of transactions as of August.

According to survey data in Ukraine, online demand has become twice as large as offline. The majority of respondents said they started shopping online more often, and only 9% shopped offline more often. This trend has started to grow due to the consequences of the pandemic, due to which many people are used to buying online and it will continue to increase. Research by Soul Partners and Baker Tilly Ukraine shows that the e-commerce market grew by 41% in 2020.

The e-commerce market has nearly tripled since 2016, and analysts predict it will double over the next five years.
