In the Kherson region, the repair of the ducker of the Ingulet irrigation system was completed. This is reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

More than  50 km of canals that had been dry for nearly two years began to fill again. The restoration will irrigate 3,000 hectares of farmland this year and double the irrigated area next year.

The first deputy head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Dmitry Butriy noted that the restoration of the irrigation system is only the beginning of large-scale work to restore irrigation in the region.

The agrarians of the region have achieved great results, thanks to the demining of fields and the increase in the area of sowing. In particular, this year about 190,000 tons of cereals and beans, 23,000 tons of rapeseed, about 9,000 tons of sunflower, 13,000 tons of potatoes, 19,000 tons of vegetables and 20,000 tons of melons and melons were harvested.

«Thanks to demining, the amount of sown land has tripled. Currently, 64% of agricultural land, which is about 322 thousand hectares, has been demined, ensuring a stable sowing campaign», — noted Dmytro Butrii.
