Last week, the price of tomatoes imported from abroad fell to UAH 50/kg, and after that it increased almost 1.5 times, analysts from «APK-Inform» report.
Experts report that after the collapse of prices, farmers did not see any reason to increase, also because of this situation, many importers suffered losses and actually refused to work with these products. At the same time, the price of Ukrainian greenhouse cucumbers has stabilized, many Ukrainian producers have decided not to increase the price of products before the holidays, as the demand for products has already fallen due to the increase in prices last week.
Also, according to experts, the increase in the price of tomatoes is a temporary phenomenon, since immediately after the holidays, buyers' interest in these products will gradually decrease, as will the price. Also, in the near future, the market will already be saturated with our local tomatoes, which will also affect the price.
