Every year in this period of time, the price of vegetables increases as much as possible due to the fact that the products from last year's harvest gradually run out, but this year there are additional factors of influence, namely military aggression from the aggressor country and problems with electricity. Prices will begin to decrease with the appearance of a new crop, experts report.
Currently, the cost of vegetables in Ukraine has reached its maximum value due to two factors. First, it is an energy crisis that started due to military actions. Secondly, a large number of products, such as carrots and onions, were grown in the currently occupied territories (Zaporizhia and Kherson regions) and are currently not available to the Ukrainian consumer.
Also, experts say that this year, farmers plan to increase the area for sowing carrots, onions and other vegetables, and due to this, the harvest is planned to increase. Also, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine is working on stabilizing the situation with the cost of products, namely, it is necessary to saturate the market and thereby stabilize prices.
