Easter is approaching and Ukrainians are already starting to prepare for the holiday and buy products that will later be consecrated in the church or simply laid on the table, taking into account the traditions of this day. This year, the prices of these products have increased significantly compared to last year.
If last year the Easter basket cost an average of 980 hryvnias, this year the prices have increased significantly, let's start with Easter — the main decoration of the holiday. Of course, cooking it yourself will be cheaper than buying it, but it is worth noting that all the main components of the recipe have also increased dramatically in price, namely milk, butter and flour. The prices for pasques on store shelves are very different, there are both 410 UAH for 1 kilogram and 600 UAH for 500-600 grams.
The price of eggs has almost doubled, if last year 10 eggs could be purchased for 35 UAH, now the price starts at 70 UAH. Buzhenina, which in 2022 cost 165 UAH per half kilo, now costs from 225 UAH. Hard cheese has also become more expensive and costs from UAH 200 per half kilo.
Those who want to add additional products to the basket will have to prepare for even higher costs.
