Since the beginning of 2022, in eight months, the shipment of meat products abroad has increased by almost 20% — reports Mykola Pugachev, deputy director of the Institute of Agrarian Economics.
Experts call the increase in the price of poultry as an important reason for the growth, if last year products were sold in the amount of $390 million, then in this year they were sold for almost $200 million more, we also note that 10% less was sent, namely 265 thousand tons.
During this year, the Netherlands became the leader in the consumption of our products, they bought $189 million worth of meat, which is approximately 31% of the total volume, the country is rapidly increasing the pace of import of these products from Ukraine. Then comes Saudi Arabia, which ordered $168 million worth of products, and other countries whose consumption does not exceed 6%, such as China, the UAE, and Turkey.
Drawing conclusions, it can be noted that today Ukrainian companies send fewer products in terms of quantity, but receive more profit due to rising prices.
