From the beginning of this year to October, our country imported almost 12 thousand tons of pork from abroad, which is about 4 times less than in 2022, according to the data of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
The value of imported products for 10 months is estimated at approximately $29 million, which is 3 times less than for the same period last year.
It should also be noted that last month Ukraine purchased 2,000 tons of pork worth $6.5 million, which in turn is 7 percent less than last month.
Experts note that this situation has arisen due to the fact that recently the average cost of products on the domestic market is gradually decreasing.
Over the past 10 months, most of the products were imported from such countries as Canada, the Netherlands and Denmark. Due to the increase in the amount of pork from Canada, the average customs value of products also increased by almost 10%.
