In Ukraine, the price of tomatoes has increased again

27.11.2023 13:52

This week, in our country, analysts again recorded an increase in the cost of tomatoes from greenhouses, the EastFruit platform reports.

The main factor in the increase in the price of these products is the gradual decrease in the number of tomatoes on the market due to seasonality, and many large producers have already finished the season.

Today, 1 kilogram of tomatoes can be purchased for 50-66 hryvnias, which in turn is almost 12% more than a week ago. Distributors are trying to compensate for the shortage with products imported from abroad, but the supply of imported products is rather unstable. Most tomatoes are imported from Turkey, the price of such a tomato starts at 55 hryvnias per kilogram.

It should also be noted that at the moment the price is already 10% higher compared to last year. At the same time, analysts do not rule out further growth, as local products are running out very quickly.
