Watermelons from the last batches are now being sold at a price of approximately 13-18 hryvnias per 1 kilogram, which is an average of 25-30% more than a week ago. Also, according to experts and producers, this season was quite unsatisfactory. The weather conditions from the beginning of the season were unfavorable, and then there was also a large amount of rain and hail, which in turn destroyed a large amount of the harvest.
Analysts also say that due to constant rainfall and high humidity, fungal diseases began to appear in the fields. This also affected the quality of the harvest this year.
That is, currently the prices of watermelons are about 35% lower than last year. According to the manufacturers, this situation was caused by unfavorable weather conditions and unsatisfactory quality.
