Analysts from the FreshPlaza platform expect a decrease in the price of potatoes in the near future.
According to experts, when the harvest season of this vegetable ends at the end of the month, the price will decrease even more. Also, one of the factors of the price reduction will be a good harvest, which this year is predicted even with a surplus, because there are also no plans to import potatoes from abroad.
All these factors will force producers and farmers to sell their products at a reduced price and more likely as soon as possible in order not to spend money on storage. At the same time, many people already have nowhere to store their products.
If since the beginning of the year, the price of new potatoes for 1 kilogram was 1.2 euros, now it has fallen to 0.16 cents, but due to a rather large number of not quite high-quality products, stores are now selling them at 0.18-0.22 cents.
However, from the beginning of next year, the cost of this root crop will start to rise again, since by then most of the harvested potatoes will have already been sold.
