Ukrainian farmers have already planted 5.7 million hectares of winter crops. Sowing of winter crops has begun in all regions, about 4.7 million hectares (90%) have been planted. Winter rapeseed is planted on more than 1 million hectares. This is reported by the Ministry of Agricultural Policy.
In particular:
- Winter wheat — 4.1 million hectares (92%);
- Winter barley — 486.1 hectares (76%);
- Winter rye — 6.6 million hectares (94%);
- Winter rape — 1.05 million hectares (94%).
Agrarian farms of the Volyn, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, and Chernihiv regions have completed sowing of winter grain crops. Farmers of 12 oblasts completed sowing of winter rapeseed.
As for the sowing of winter cereals, the Mykolaiv region tops the list — 503.1 ha (100.5%), the Zaporizhia region — 100.8 ha (99.9%) and the Khmelnytsia region — 238.8 ha (99.5%).
