Ukraine has taken from the world market all one-time granaries for storing the new season's harvest

To store the harvest of the current season, Ukraine will need one-time and mobile granaries with a total capacity of up to 20 million tons, and thanks to the public-private partnership, the necessary equipment is already being purchased and is going to Ukraine.
However, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyi, said that Ukraine's purchase of alternative grain reserves depleted their reserves on world markets.

The day before, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held a separate tender for Ukraine for the purchase of mobile silos for storing more than 1 million tons of crops, as well as loading and unloading equipment.

As reported, on August 15, 2022, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed draft law No. 7548-1 on exemption from import duty taxation of goods used for the storage of grain and oil crops.

The import of mobile granaries will have the potential to preserve this season's harvest, as a shortage of elevator capacity of 10-15 million tons is expected in Ukraine by the end of 2022 in the face of a military invasion by the Russian Federation.

In mid-June, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported that soon Ukraine will receive the first batch of shells for temporary storage of the crop — mobile granaries, which are necessary due to the insufficient capacity of the elevator.
