14 million tons of corn and 6 million tons of grain are blocked in Ukraine. What can provoke a world food crisis, about 18 million people will be put on the verge of starvation. 450 sailors are currently held captive by Russia on 84 sea vessels, Bohdan Ustymenko, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Maritime Law and Security, reports. He noted that they mean vessels currently blocked by Russia in Ukrainian ports.
«These are ships from all over the world that sail under the flags of other states, but they systematically enter the seaports of Ukraine. What is happening now is not only the genocide of Russia against Ukraine, it is also the genocide of the countries of Africa and Asia, which are the main consumers of our agricultural products,» said Bohdan.
Such criminal actions of Russia in Ukraine can provoke a global food crisis, say lawyers. It is Russia that is currently making it impossible to export grain by blocking Ukrainian ports, according to Ustymenko, more than 20 tons of grain products have been blocked in Ukraine today.
«The problem that can provoke a food crisis all over the world can be solved by military means, so I call on our foreign partners to provide us with the necessary weapons,» said Volodymyr Zelenskyy
Also, to help Ukraine in exports, the European Commission announced the creation of so-called transport «solidarity lines».
But British intelligence notes that all the attempts of the Ukrainian government and Western partners will not help to solve the issue of implementing the supply of all grain.
