In 2023, all the big players and small entrepreneurs produced approximately 7.5 million tons of milk, which is approximately 5% less than last year, the Association of Milk Producers reports.
The number of enterprises that produced milk raw materials this year was 38%, and the number of households was 68%. Manufacturers have increased the amount of finished raw materials to 2.8 million tons, that is, now it can be noted that the indicators have reached the level that was before the start of hostilities. But households produced approximately 4.6 million tons for the whole of last year, which in turn is 12% less than in 2022.
Analysts note that almost 90% of the milk that is processed was produced by the industrial sector, so a decrease in milk production at farms will not cause an increase in prices and a decrease in the production of dairy products.
Also, for 2023, an increase in the production of raw milk was recorded in some regions of our country, namely Poltava, Rivne, Kyiv, and Cherkasy.
