The price of buckwheat may drop to UAH 60-65 per kilogram. «Now buckwheat from this year's new harvest is arriving at the factory for processing, and there is every chance that the price will begin to decline,» said a representative of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Also, from the words of the expert, it became known that Sumy became a record holder in the amount of buckwheat collected. Despite the beginning of the full-scale invasion, constant shelling and partial destruction of the infrastructure, almost 16 thousand tons were collected.
Zhytomyr and Khmelnytskyi regions are in second and third place, respectively. Both regions collected almost the same amount with a small difference, approximately 15 thousand tons of products.
122,000 tons were harvested this year, and about 152,000 tons are forecast for the entire 2022 season.
Experts explain that the harvest was delayed due to bad weather in September, but despite this, the country's needs will be completely covered and a large export base will be established.
