Ukraine harvested an excellent crop of potatoes this year, so prices should not rise until the next season, says expert Oksana Ruzhenkova.
«The cost will either not change, or it will change but not significantly. This year, we harvested an excellent crop of potatoes, and this is despite the fact that due to the start of a full-scale war, the sown areas were greatly reduced. Also, the increase in the cost of fuel and fertilizers was not reflected in the price,» said Ruzhenkova.
Currently, in western Ukraine, the price of potatoes straight from the field is within 4-5 UAH per kilogram. In stores, the price doubles and you can buy a kilogram for UAH 10-11. Given current fuel and fertilizer prices, it's almost free, the expert claims.

This month, the price of potatoes in stores ranges from 8 to 11 hryvnias, in markets from 5 to 15 hryvnias, depending on the quality.
