In nine months of 2024, the volume of exports of agricultural products from Ukraine increased by a quarter, i.e. by 9.9 million tons. This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
According to the agency, in the three quarters of 2024 alone, Ukraine exported 48.9 million tons of agricultural products worth 10.5 billion US dollars.
The restoration of maritime communications increased agricultural exports. Shipping accounts for 89% of all exports.
According to customs data, 9% of agricultural products were exported by rail. The remaining 2% was transported by road.
In the import of agricultural products, the situation was the opposite, and 80% of imported agricultural products entered Ukraine by land transport. The ministry emphasized that the main reason for this is the import of products from European countries.
