According to the data of the European Commission, Moldova sent the most sunflower seeds to the European Union this season, which displaced our country from the first place, analysts from the apk-inform.com platform report.
So, over the last 4 months, almost 191,000 tons of seeds were exported to EU countries, which is 86% less compared to last season. Also, a larger amount of products, namely 120 thousand tons, was provided by Moldova, which last year sent 107 thousand tons.
Our country was the main supplier of this crop, but this season the amount of exports decreased from 1.1 million tons to 36 thousand tons.
Currently, countries such as Spain, Romania and Bulgaria supply most of the sunflower seeds to EU countries.
