Export of Ukrainian meat products

Despite the full-scale war, Ukrainian meat exports showed resilience in 2023. According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine exported 100,000 tons of meat products for a total of $300 million. USA.

The main export products remain:
-Chicken: 50,000 tons (US$150 million)
-Beef: 30 thousand tons (90 million US dollars)
-Pork: 20,000 tons (US$60 million)

The geography of exports is diversified:
-EU: 50% of exports
-Asia: 30% of exports
— Africa: 10% of exports
— CIS: 10% of exports

The war caused a number of problems for meat exports:
-Logistics: closure of ports, damage to transport infrastructure
-Production: destruction of capacities
-Economic: rising prices for energy resources and raw materials

The government takes measures to support exporters:
— Reimbursement of part of the expenses
— Simplification of procedures
— Support for the opening of new markets

Experts predict that in 2024 meat exports may increase to 120,000 tons.

Conditions for growth:
-Restoration of seaports (partially)
-Improvement of logistics (in progress)
-Increase in meat production (observed)

Thanks to the joint efforts of the government and farmers, Ukrainian meat products will continue to be supplied to world markets, providing Ukraine with foreign exchange earnings and supporting world food security.
