How do online sales work during wartime?

06.09.2022 11:13

During a full-scale war, Ukrainians buy more promotional goods, stock up on cereals, canned goods and drinking water, according to data from the Zakaz.ua delivery service.
With the beginning of the Russian invasion, the Internet direction ceased its activities. Work was resumed only at the end of March, and delivery was possible only by courier.

«The number of orders dropped to 2-3 per day. The average check has grown significantly. In April, activity increased slightly, but was unstable. In addition, the curfew regime had an effect, due to which the number of orders reached zero per day. May and June also turned out to be difficult months, even worse than April. In general, July had better results, especially in the Kopiyka chain of stores. The online store has been operational since June, but the growth was noticeable only in the last weeks, the increase was about 1%,» the retailer added.

The company's sales have fallen due to the departure of large numbers of consumers to other parts of the country and abroad, where there is no online delivery network. Problems with logistics, delays at checkpoints, frequent air alarms have become problems for all online markets.
Despite this, retailers continue to work: gradually resuming deliveries to various cities of Ukraine and updating volumes.
