The price of bread in Ukraine has increased

21.08.2023 13:55

Everyone knows that bread is one of the basic products, so in the last month of summer, its price has increased significantly. If compared with the indicators for July, the price of some varieties increased by approximately 5 hryvnias, analysts from the finance.today.ua platform report.

Today, according to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, half a kilogram of sliced loaf in stores costs 25.75 hryvnias. In the Novus supermarket chain, you can buy bread for 23.55 hryvnias. «Rumyanets» loaf currently costs 21.8 hryvnias for 450 grams.

The price of rye bread has increased by almost 5 hryvnias, and now a 300-gram loaf can be purchased for 35.45 hryvnias. But at the same time, the price of «Ukrainian Moscow» bread fell by more than 5 hryvnias and is now sold at 32.7 hryvnias.

Analysts predicted such dynamics of prices for the specified products at the beginning of spring, namely, it was announced that the price would increase by 1% every month.

The main factor of this phenomenon is the limited amount of raw materials for baking bread. Since the beginning of hostilities, the cost of growing grain crops has greatly increased, and the sale price is gradually decreasing. Despite the fact that there is now a sufficient amount of grain in the country, in 2024 many producers will not sow crops, so the cultivation of these crops will gradually lose profitability.
