Since the beginning of last week, the price of tomatoes in our country has started to decrease rapidly, analysts from the EastFruit platform report.
Experts note that the main factor in the decrease in the value of this vegetable was oversaturation of the market, many products from open ground appeared. Despite the fact that the season has just begun, the yield this year is very high, which is why we are now observing such a situation with prices.
The demand for products is relatively small, and the competition among producers and farmers is only growing every day. Now vegetables can be purchased for 21-32 hryvnias per kilogram ($0.55-.88), which is almost 30% less than last week.
Analysts also note that the demand for products will not grow much and will remain quite restrained, which in turn will encourage manufacturers to further reduce the cost of products. It should also be noted that vegetables are already being sold approximately 35% cheaper than during the same period last year and will continue to decrease with a gradual increase in supply on the market.
