Since the beginning of May, the price of eggs in our country has started to decrease. The Institute of Agrarian Economics of Ukraine reports that the main factor in the price reduction is the constant increase in the supply of this product on the market. Today, the average price of 10 eggs is 55 hryvnias, while in the middle of spring the price was between 70-81 hryvnias, analysts from the biz.today.ua platform report.
Currently, there is a really large amount of products on the market of our country, since more than half of all eggs are obtained from private producers, it should also be taken into account that chickens lay better in the summer than in any other period of the year. Experts predict that the price will continue to decrease until the 2nd month of summer. Thus, in May, the price decreased by almost 13%.
As of today, the price of packaged products in supermarkets ranges from 49 hryvnias to 50 hryvnias for 10 eggs. Each store also sells unpackaged products, the prices of which start from 38 to 52 hryvnias.
