Cucumber prices are rising in Ukraine

Experts from the EastFruit platform note that the positive dynamics of price growth for cucumbers imported from abroad continues despite the gradual decrease in interest from buyers. Importers explain this by the fact that goods are traditionally very expensive in Turkey in this period of time, and the main amount of these products comes to the shelves of Ukrainian stores from this region.

So, over the last week, the price of products has increased by almost 19-20% and today is 83-98 UAH/kg ($2.23-2.68/kg).

One of the main reasons for such a sharp growth is that our market is represented by a very small number of these products. Also, after the last disaster in Turkey, the amount of imported products also decreased as much as possible. Due to these factors, sellers continue to increase the prices of cucumbers.

As experts note, the price this week increased by 35% on average compared to the beginning of the month. While, unfortunately, there is no reason to reduce the price of products at least until the end of February or the beginning of March, Turkish cucumbers are now almost the only option on the market, in Ukrainian greenhouses the harvesting season has not yet begun.
