This week, almost all greenhouse plants in our country announced the end of the season for selling tomatoes, which in turn reduced the number of these products on the market, according to experts on the EastFruit platform.
But even under such conditions, the value of the local tomato continues to gradually decrease.
Many large companies did not want to buy local products earlier due to long delivery times, while other small companies limited themselves to small batches for current sales and planned to increase volumes only before the holidays. But under the current conditions, sellers reduce prices in order to at least somehow activate the pace of sales, now 1 kilogram of tomatoes can be purchased for 40-60 hryvnias, which is almost 22% less than a week ago.
It should also be noted that at present the tomato costs about 25% less than in 2022, especially since our market is currently dominated by tomatoes from Turkey.
