Already from the first days of 2023, changes in the cost of vegetables were recorded. First of all, analysts report on onions, the price of which has increased by almost 10% over the last week, and it is now the most expensive representative of the borscht set. Due to the reduction of onion purchases in other countries during the period of New Year holidays and demand, sellers began to raise prices.
They also note that the number of carrot offers is also decreasing, which in turn allows for a gradual increase in price, so in the first half of January, the price increased by almost 15%. But the price of apples increased the most. Since the beginning of the year, a 30-35% increase in prices was recorded.
Unfortunately, experts do not predict a decrease in the price of onions in the near future. Manufacturers still have product stocks in their warehouses and will try to sell them at higher prices. Most likely, there will not be enough onions until the end of the season, and then prices will be formed exclusively from imports. But carrots, on the contrary, should not grow due to sufficient volumes in the warehouses of producers.
