Onion prices continue to rise in Ukraine. Due to the growing demand from distributors and sales restrictions by manufacturers, prices will continue to rise.
Thanks to this, the price in stores gradually increased and currently a kilogram of onions costs UAH 25.2-29.1. and this is almost 15% more than the previous week.
Also, for many farmers, bad rainy weather now makes harvesting impossible, experts report. Moreover, it became known that a large part of the onion is simply stored for the future, and now it is sold in small volumes.
At the end of September, onions cost approximately 4.4 times less than now. Experts are sure that the price will continue to rise, as some farms do not have their own warehouses for product storage and have already sold most of the onions. Others are sure that prices will continue to rise, so they are in no hurry to sell products now, but will wait for the most favorable price for themselves.
