Cucumber prices began to rise in Ukraine due to problems with imports from Turkey

08.01.2024 13:56

According to the experts from the EastFruit project, due to the growing demand for greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine and their limited quantity, prices for these products began to rise, but at the moment, the cost of cucumbers directly in Turkey has also increased.

Currently, only a couple of Ukrainian factories are engaged in the sale of their products, in general, they all sell Turkish cucumbers. Today, the average selling price is 95-130 hryvnias for 1 kilogram, which is almost 20% more than last week.

Currently, the main factor of the positive dynamics of price growth is the fact that the prices of products have increased in Turkey, but this week imported products entered the market in rather limited batches, as many companies are not satisfied with the quality of these cucumbers.

Also, today, compared to the same period last year, the price is 70% higher. Analysts still hope that this is a temporary phenomenon and that the situation will normalize in the near future.
