According to APC-Inform, sunflower processing in July continued to fall due to seasonal factors, such as the reduction of sunflower stocks and the transition of some companies to rapeseed. However, the volume exceeded previous estimates, reaching just over one million tons.
«This figure is 10% below June's recycling, but is one of the largest recycling figures for July», APK-Inform noted.
In total, for 11 months of the 2023/24 FY, Ukraine processed about 14.4 million tons, which is the highest production indicator in the industry over the past four seasons and the third largest after the 2019/20 FY (15.4 million tons in September-July) and 2018 /19 MR (14.6 million tons).
The sunflower processing forecast for the 2023/24 season is raised to 15.2 million tonnes (7% above the previous forecast and 9% above the previous season), which is very close to the pre-war maximum and above both the official domestic oilseed production data and the estimates of many experts for the 2023 yield.
In August, APK-Inform adjusted its oil crop forecast for the previous year. Analysts believe that the yield was underestimated due to military action and difficult conditions in the frontline areas.
