After a rather long interval when the price of potatoes did not even change, the cost began to rise again, experts from the EastFruit platform note.
Today, our farmers and producers sell potatoes in rather small batches, as the main quantity of products is planned to be sold later, and this provoked the price increase.
Now 1 kilogram of products is sold for 7-10 hryvnias, and only this week the price has already increased by 15%. The main reason for this growth, experts say, is increased interest among buyers. Also, due to unfavorable weather conditions, harvesting is slowed down.
Some farms do not sell potatoes at all now, as they have been sent to storage for the purpose of selling at a higher price. It should also be noted that currently the cost is almost 2 times higher than last year.
