After almost 2 months of stable prices for cabbage, there was a sharp increase in prices, experts from EastFruit report.
Since there are almost no products left in the warehouses, the demand has increased sharply, due to this, the price of the product begins to rise rapidly.
Based on this, today cabbage can be found on the shelves of Ukrainian stores at a price from 11 to 19 UAH ($0.31-0.51/kg) and this price is almost 2 times higher than last week. Since the amount of products in unequipped warehouses is decreasing almost rapidly, and the increased interest from wholesale companies gives Ukrainian manufacturers the opportunity to gradually increase the price. Also, according to the farmers, weather conditions and invasion by the aggressor country, with partial problems with electricity supply in this season also negatively affected the quality of white cabbage.
To date, the price of cabbage is the same as compared to the same period last year, while most likely Ukrainian farmers will try to gradually increase the prices of products.
